Carrie Gerlach Cecil

CEO 


Premier communications strategist, Carrie Gerlach Cecil specializes in litigation, strategic and crisis communications, brand reputation management and digital solutions.

Mrs. Cecil and her partner Ramsey Poston have pioneered revolutionary problem-solving services to mitigate risk and increase brand integrity for her clients.  A well-known speaker and author, Cecil is one of the preeminent leaders in digital and traditional litigation and crisis communications, digital brand terrorism, media and social media training and risk mitigation. An experienced speechwriter and corporate image specialist, she confidentially directs her clients on how to preemptively and positively maneuver sensitive issues that impact their businesses.

Over the past two decades, Mrs. Cecil has developed close working relationships with some of America’s top law firms, energy corporations, political candidates, CEOs and professional and collegiate sports stakeholders to create proactive reputation tactics in lockstep with the legal and brand strategies.

She has counseled countless c-suite executives and decision-makers from entities and corporations such as Noble Energy, Charter Communications, Sony Corporate America, ESPN, FOX Sports Net, Universal Television/Studios, The Tennis Channel, The Pac-12 and Big 12 Conferences, Columbia Tri-Star, Sony Pictures, Miramax, MGM Television and Domestic Films, the NCAA, NFL, MLB, NASCAR and IndyCar. She continues to work in higher education with institution presidents, their cabinet and legal counselors to prepare them for and respond to issues proposed by government, Board of Regents/Trustees and governing body regulators.

Mrs. Cecil handled government and public relations as well as community affairs for global entertainment companies including serving as the director of entertainment communications for Turner Network Television (TNT), based in Los Angeles. She inaugurated her tenure with Turner Entertainment Group in New York as the manager of East Coast public relations. She began her career in strategic communications at Rogers & Cowan Public Relations, Inc., and with the Honorable Senator John McCain.

 

Dave Andrews

Digital and Technology Strategist and Partner


A Digital and Technology Partner, Dave oversees development of multi-platform endeavors for Anachel. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to impact revenue and reputations.

In his current role Mr. Andrews has helped spearhead the development of multiple Anachel proprietary state-of-the-art digital and social media strategies. He serves a growing need in the development of field of cross-media production and business development.

He has developed strategic partnerships with global sports, entertainment and technology companies to make a mark in the digital sports space both domestically and in the international community. As part of the core team, Mr. Andrews is an advisor, partner and integral team member who ensures brand integrity training and safeguarding.

Dave is also the founder of Devious Media, Community 101 and 360 E-Commerce Consulting. He assists many start-ups in the advertising, marketing, community, and new media space – in addition to brand owners – from concept to completion.

Before founding Devious Media, Andrews led Sony’s Game Show Network’s efforts in digital media, combining the latest interactive and mobile technologies to produce bleeding-edge content. While at GSN, Andrews drove development of interactive content, enabling the network to engage viewers deeper in the broadcast for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A four-time Emmy Award nominee in the Interactive Television category, Andrews is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Producers Guild of America, the Casual Games Association, the Cable Telecommunications Association for Marketing, and the International Game Developers Association.

He sits on the Advisory Board for TV Plus, Moeo, Creator Council, and is the Co-Chair of the Emmy’s Digital Committee.

Janet Bess

Director of Finance


A premier business management executive with over 30-years of finance experience, Ms. Bess directs all corporate business management endeavors including accounting and billing for Anachel and its sister company, SM2. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to positively impact revenue and reputations.

Ms. Bess brings her vast knowledge and background working with high profile client’s including Grammy-winning Artists and Hollywood’s best-known actors, writers and directors to her role as director of finance for Anachel. At Anachel, she services some of today’s most well prestigious brands and clients as well as meeting the needs of Anachel’s rapid market growth.

When not in the office, the UCLA graduate is actively involved in various non-profit organizations, including church supported ministries such as Cathedral Cares, servicing homeless individuals in the Charleston area; Youth Empowerment Services, mentoring teen girls; and serving as the annual Conference Coordinator for the Dream Girls Conference for at risk middle and high schools girls.

Ms. Bess and her husband Kenneth have a daughter, Shannon.

Patrick Conley
Patrick Conley

Investigative Services


As an Anachel Investigative, Digital and Forensic expert and strategic partner, Mr. Conley creates and implements strategic federal, state and digital background analysis, crisis, and tactical plans for Anachel. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to positively impact revenue and reputations.

Mr. Conley is a national security, intelligence and investigative firm. Established on the FBI principles of Fidelity, Bravery and Integrity. He is also the CEO of Franklin Global.

Mr. Conley served in a variety of assignments during his 20-year career, combating fraud, corruption, terrorism, violent crimes, stalking and kidnapping investigations. He has experience investigating complex white-collar crimes, money laundering, organized crimes and public corruption. He testified numerous times in federal and state courts and was recognized for his efforts by the Attorney General, the Director of the FBI and heads of various state and local agencies. He brings real world experience in threat mitigation, designing security and response plans for major domestic and international events, including the Olympics, World Cup, Super Bowl, World Series and the U.S. National Political Conventions. Mr. Conley has conducted dozens of domestic and international security protection details for U.S. Government dignitaries and foreign officials.

Mr. Conley enjoyed a 17-year career on the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) where he served as Team Commander and Team Leader. In that role, Mr. Conley conducted hundreds of high risk operations and developed numerous multi-agency tactical plans in support of some of the largest tactical operations in the U.S. He was the primary tactical representative for the FBI Rapid Deployment Team, which responded worldwide to major crises involving the United States or its interests. In 2008, he was temporarily assigned to Afghanistan in furtherance of the FBI’s counter-terrorism mission. 

Since his retirement from government service, Mr. Conley has provided investigative expertise for cases relating to the bank failure crisis, international fraud and money laundering, asset investigations, trade secret violations, food product tampering, school incidents, internal and external corporate fraud and theft, workplace violence, adverse terminations, missing person cases, identity theft, stalking threats, kidnappings and a variety of family matters.

Mr. Conley consults with Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and private clients on investigative matters and security related topics. Mr. Conley is member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, the California Association of Licensed Investigators and the World Association of Detectives.

Kate Davis

Reputation Management & Content Creation


Kate Davis brings almost twenty years of content creation, television production, public relations and digital media experience to Anachel. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to impact revenue and reputations.

Ms. Davis was the director of Digital Video Production at NASCAR Digital Media. In her role, she managed all video production for NASCAR.com and its content partners, while also managing the video needs of the Integrated Marketing Communications department.

A 15 year veteran of NASCAR, Ms. Davis served in three different divisions of NASCAR, beginning as the senior manager of Broadcast Communications, in Daytona Beach, Fl. Utilizing her production experience, and racing knowledge, she helped maintain good relationships with NASCAR’s broadcast partners NBC and FOX, while expanding the sport’s reach with mainstream media outlets like NBC’s TODAY show, The Late Show with David Letterman and 60 minutes on CBS. Additionally, while in this role, Ms. Davis helped create and develop Chase Media Day, designed to utilize NASCAR’s best asset, its drivers, to promote a new playoff system to determine the NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion.

Ms. Davis moved to Charlotte, NC in 2007, to join NASCAR Productions, as director of News Media. While managing Video News Feeds, Satellite Media Tours and other video content for the NASCAR IMC team, Ms. Davis was also involved in the development of the NewsCenter facilities, consisting of two radio studios and a television studio, adjacent to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

After managing the needs of several media outlets utilizing the facility during the 2012 Democratic National Convention, Ms. Davis was tapped to build out and manage the Digital Video team as NASCAR re-launched NASCAR.com in 2013. While serving in this role, Ms. Davis managed the video coverage of Dale Earnhardt Jr’s second Daytona 500 win, Tony Stewart’s two Sprint Car accidents, and the new Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Playoff, while seeing consistent growth in viewership, up 47% on the NASCAR.com platform.

Ms. Davis began her career in television production, spending six years, at FOX Sports Net in Los Angeles, CA. Hired as a Production Assistant on the National Sports Report right out of college, she worked her way up to feature producer, focusing primarily on motorsports coverage. She is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. Ms. Davis currently resides in Charlotte, NC.

Aaron Eisman

Social Media Content Strategist


Mr. Eisman brings extensive social media content strategy and best-practices to Anachel. With experience partnering with high-profile celebrities, CEOs, professional athletes, coaches and brands, Mr. Eisman provides Anachel clients with engaging and creative content strategies and a trusted eye to enhance and protect brands and reputations. He has published over 400 stories and 100 blogs and has a passion for trending pop culture and social media creativity. A Los Angeles native, Mr. Eisman is an Indiana University graduate with a degree in Journalism.

 

Margie Johnson

Strategic Marketing Specialist


Margie Johnson brings a wealth of management experience to her role as a strategic marketing specialist for Anachel. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to positively impact revenue and reputations.

As an executive, she has built and managed professional services including Interactive Strategy, Technology and Project Management. Having worked over the years with clients such as Sony Pictures, NBC/Universal, Sony VAIO, Nestle, Activision, and Motorola, she understands that analysis and insights are only useful if they lead to concrete, actionable recommendations for improvement. With her wealth of cross-disciplinary knowledge and project management experience, she knows what it takes to turn those recommendations into reality.

Throughout her career, she has managed numerous large-scale brand initiatives with technology and data at the core of those programs. She mixes integrated digital marketing, technology and real-time insight mixed with a physical event to inspire action and energy and results.  Ms. Johnson is also a managing partner at Mee3 Agency.

 

Eitan Magid

Technology and Digital


Eitan Magid is sought-after as an entrepreneur, technologist and commentator for his multidisciplinary expertise and business leadership across hardware, software, networking, programming and nascent technologies. He is widely consulted on the web service/application development process, an undertaking from concept to market that he has successfully completed for many startups as founder and CEO of eMagid, an interactive agency.

Serving in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as a computer-networking engineer in Unit 8200, Eitan honed his expertise in security infrastructure to later lead enterprise-level projects with the North Shore-LIJ Health System and the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission.

His passion for business development resulted in Eitan founding his own additional startup projects, in addition to a focus at eMagid on assisting small businesses in reaching their growth targets through website monetization. Today, he is also the co-founder and CEO of MetroClick, a digital signage solutions provider, and serves clients in the United States, Europe and Asia from eMagid’s five offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London and Tel Aviv.

Eitan’s speaking engagements have included thought leadership on topics ranging from how technology can become smarter in the live event space to the best practices when hiring a company or freelancer to develop a mobile application. He has most recently appeared on Fox News’ Your World with Neil Cavuto as an expert panelist consulted in regards to HealthCare.gov.

 

Karen North

Communications, Digital and Content Advisor


Karen North, Ph.D. is a nationally recognized communications expert in digital social media and in psychology. She brings critical experience and state-of-the-art digital strategies and online tactics to Anachel. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to impact revenue and reputations.

She is the Director of USC’s Annenberg Program on Online Communities (APOC) which offers an MS in Digital Social Media and she is a Clinical Professor in the School of Communication

APOC is the world’s first master’s degree program and research center focused on the leadership and management of digital and social media and online communities. Trained as a clinical and social psychologist and with considerable work experience in telecommunications policy and practice, Dr. North’s interests come together in the digital world where entrepreneurs and large companies seem most focused on using social and digital media to bring people together and form groups online.

Dr. North teaches these skills, strategies, and theories, and she works with small and large companies in this sector. Prior to building USC’s Digital Social Media program, Dr. North was the Assistant Dean of the UCLA School of Public Policy.

She previously worked in the Clinton Administration in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and before that she worked for Rep. Edward Markey (now Senator from MA), Chairman of the US House of Representatives Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Finance. Dr. North is frequently interviewed by local, national, and international journalists, including CNN, NBC Nightly News, The Today Show, ABC, CBS, she is a go-to source on social media and psychology for major newspapers and magazines, and she is a frequent guest on NPR and other radio shows.

Most importantly, Dr. North loves to help people understand how individuals, groups, and technologies interact and how the human condition plays out in our technology mediated communication age.

 

 

 

Michael Overing

Business Affairs & Litigation


With decades of first amendment and social media best-practices, Michael Overing brings specialized legal expertise to Anachel and their clients. He is an attorney and faculty member at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism where he teaches courses in intellectual property, media law, entertainment and first amendment rights. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to impact revenue and reputations.

Michael joined Anachelin 2017 providing specialized depth in digital media best-practices for professional and collegiate sports programs, athletes and executives. He develops overall policies to meet the unique goals of Anachel clients while respecting their constituent’s rights. From digital brand terrorism to cyberbullying, he works to minimize risk and protect Anachel and their partners. He has been a featured columnist for the Online Journalism Review and is a go-to interview choice for major media outlets on issues affecting rights and practices in online social media.

Michael is a member of the California bar and the American Bar Association.  He received his J.D. from Loyola Law School (Los Angeles) in 1989, his M.A. degree from the University of Southern California in 1986, and his B.A. degree from the University of Nebraska in 1984.  Michael makes Pasadena his home with his wife Theresa, and their sons, Robert, John and Andrew.

 

Dan Posey

Director Brand & Technology Divisions


Dan Posey is the director of Anachel’s brand and technology divisions. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to positively impact revenue and reputations. 
Over the past four years, Mr. Posey has assisted Anachel and SM2 CEO, Carrie Cecil to create and ensure the highest quality of content and service internally and externally. Mr. Posey has developed over 75-professional sports and collegiate athletic customized videos, overseen design for Anachel and SM2’s advertising and marketing campaigns as well as managed a team of production, motion, technology and graphic specialists. He serves as the senior liaison to both Anachel and SM2’s clients and partners.

Prior to joining Anachel and SM2, Mr. Posey was senior animator and videographer at Captiva Marketing where he produced creative marketing and advertising video campaigns for a litany of name brand clients. With background in all facets of production and post-production, Dan has been specializing in motion design since 2001.

Mr. Posey’s work has aired on approximately 300 stations nationally, including ABC, WGN, Fox Family, BET, TBN and many more, winning two Telly Awards in 2005 for his editor work on How to Handle Temptation and Forgiving Charles Manuel.

Ramsey Poston

Principle


A leading strategic, litigation and crisis communications specialist, Mr. Poston has partnered with Ms. Cecil over the past decade to deliver maximum results for their clients across the globe.

Mr. Poston develops comprehensive strategies to ensure that every client’s image remains intact and that their client’s position gets a full and public hearing. His varied and comprehensive media contacts allow him to present a strong case for his clients and his media savvy and connections help him to promote a positive position. Mr. Poston’s clients have included businesses and executives from a broad spectrum of industries including sports, energy, entertainment, consumer and healthcare.

Mr. Poston worked with NASCAR to manage the crisis around the death of Dale Earnhardt, who was killed on the final lap of the Daytona 500 that year. Three years later, Mr. Poston took over NASCAR’s Communications Department, leading a team of 30 public relations professionals covering all aspects of the sport’s communications, which included working closely with the legal team.

Mr. Poston served as NASCAR chief communications strategist and spokesperson for all litigation and crisis situations. During his tenure at NASCAR, Mr. Poston successfully led the litigation communications efforts in a number of high-profile cases. He has been the on-record spokesperson for NASCAR’s most sensitive issues often conducting full press conferences with broadcast and print media in concert with legal strategy. As NASCAR’s spokesman, Mr. Poston has conducted close to 1,500 interviews.

Mr. Poston developed close working relationships with some of America’s top law firms to communicate NASCAR’s defense in concert with the legal strategy. Some the recent cases include, AT&T Mobility v. NASCAR (contract dispute); Maricia Grant v. NASCAR (racial and sexual harassment); Jeremy Mayfield v. NASCAR (substance abuse policy extending to claims of negligence, breach of contract, and defamation); and, Kentucky Speedway v. NASCAR ($1.2 billion Anti-Trust lawsuit).

Prior to joining NASCAR, Mr. Poston served as a senior vice president at the Washington, D.C. public affairs firm Powell Tate. Powell Tate was the brainchild of two former White House press secretaries — Jody Powell and Sheila Tate — who believed in the power of collaboration to build successful communications campaigns. While at Powell Tate, Poston specialized in crisis communications. He led the firm’s Labor & Employment practice, providing strategic communications counsel to companies in a number of employee-management scenarios including litigation, contract negotiations, plant closings, unionization campaigns and corporate campaigns. Mr. Poston has worked with chief executives and their legal counselors to prepare for and respond to citations and fines proposed by government regulators including actions taken by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Safety Transportation Board (NTSB).

 

Will Witherspoon

Media and Social Media Educator


Will Witherspoon brings over two decades of professional football experience to Anachel. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to positively impact revenue and reputations.

As an on-campus and professional football media and social media educator for Anachel, the former NFL linebacker engages his audiences on critical media strategies for presentation, public speaking and social media best-practices. He also serves as an on-camera educator for the on-demand customized NFL, NHL, and Collegiate Athletics eCourseware.

Mr. Witherspoon was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He has also played for the St. Louis Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans. A graduate of the University of Georgia, he is passionate about producing healthy and nutritious food and owns the sustainable Shire Gate Farm near Owensville, Mo. Mr. Witherspoon is blessed with three daughters.

Mike Zizzo

Strategic and Crisis Communications


With two decades of strategic communications experience, Mike Zizzo brings integrity, wisdom and narrative knowhow to Anachel. Anachel protects and maximizes valuable brands through unmatched senior communications strategies and tactics to positively impact revenue and reputations.

Prior to partnering with Anachel, Mr. Zizzo’s was the vice president of media relations for Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). While at TMS he served as a special motorsports advisor to Anachel and its sister company, SM2 on the relevant topics surrounding motorsports including its tracks, teams, and drivers for NASCAR, INDYCAR, and other motorsports-affiliated entities.

At Texas Motor Speedway, Mr. Zizzo oversaw the creation of the Broadcast Media Center, Pit Stop Park, Tony Stewart “Smoke Show,” 10 Years Strong commemorative book, Wall of Champions, Speeding To Help community outreach program, and Speeding To Read education initiative, among other projects. For 2014, Speeding Vice President To Read was awarded the “Best Youth Marketing Initiative” by the NASCAR industry.

The first and only two-time recipient of the Public Relations Representative of the Year for NASCAR National Series Tracks, the most recent honor coming for the 2013 season. He previously won the award for the 2006 season, his second year at Texas Motor Speedway.

Mr. Zizzo arrived at Texas Motor Speedway in 2005 with a wealth of knowledge and experience in NASCAR and INDYCAR racing and other motorsports-affiliated entities. He spent the previous nine years working for sanctioning bodies in both of those series, with his last tenure being with NASCAR. Zizzo joined NASCAR’s Media Relations department at the outset of 2002 and served as the senior manager of communications.

He arrived at NASCAR from Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART), where he spent six years with the open-wheel sanctioning body. Zizzo joined CART in 1996 as communications manager and a year later was named director of public relations.  His accolades included the Jim Chapman Award for the most outstanding public relations representative in the series. In 2000, he was promoted to CART vice president of competition public relations. He moved to NASCAR in 2002 as a communications manager and a year later was promoted to senior manager.

Mr. Zizzo also spent 12 years as a sportswriter for The Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel, covering major beats including motorsports, the NFL and NHL. He is a graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla. He resides in Lantana, Texas, with his wife Leesa and stepchildren, Stella and Ben.
